The University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering is the only R1 research university in the state — research driven by its faculty, who brought in $192 million in sponsored funding from industry and government in 2024-25. They teach undergraduate programs all ranked in the top 15 among public universities, with a 95% graduate placement rate.
Much of this is facilitated by fundraising by the CSE advancement team, for whom I created a series of branded materials gift officers can keep on hand and share with prospects to build excitement and buy-in. These pieces feature bright images of a diverse population, with a focus on easily digestible facts relevant to their interests and investment.
I continued that branding and communication style to the team's annual giving efforts to steward regular, smaller donations. This also included two popular giveaways to inspire pride and keep the college front and center — a pennant-shaped magnet for alumni and a Goldy-branded scarf.
These an other efforts helped the college exceed its 2024-25 fundraising goals by 20%.
